Lunchroom Wars 2021
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is excited to announce the first annual 2021 Lunchroom Wars, Florida’s Official Student Chef Cook-Off, formerly known as the Fresh From Florida Student Chef Cook-Off. Lunchroom Wars invites young chefs and passionate student cooks to show off their skills for the chance to win incredible prizes and the title of 2021 Lunchroom Wars Champion. The competition aims to uplift the culinary aspirations of Florida students, highlight Florida commodities and reimagine school lunches.

School Lunch Hero 2021
Who has the smarts to plan nutritious meals, the chops to manage perishable inventory and the patience to slice hundreds of oranges in a single day? Who stays vigilant about food safety while feeding breakfast and lunch to hundreds of children — and then gets up to do it all again tomorrow?
Superheroes often hide in plain sight. That’s why we are asking Florida schools to bring their heroic school nutrition professionals into the spotlight for a week of celebration during the first week of May.
The celebration will conclude on national School Lunch Hero Day on May 7, 2021.
School nutrition professionals are the champions of nutrition. It’s time to thank them for saving the day, one meal at a time.
