Locating Gaps in Service
Meal Gap Report
The Meal Gap Report was created to provide a more accurate look at areas in Florida where there is defined need and few to no meals being provided.
The report will display by zip code the approximate number of Summer BreakSpot sites it will take to close a meal gap in any zip code that displays aggregate data about children in need collected through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Medicaid, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, and Certified Reduced Eligibility.
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services will focus on the top 20 zip codes in the report by profiling the zip codes to learn what the barriers and resources are to participating in the program. Please review the most recent report to see how your zip code measures up.
Florida's Roadmap to Living Healthy
Sponsors and partners may also use Florida's Roadmap to Living Healthy to identify where Summer BreakSpot sites were located in the previous summer. The map shows where there are areas that would benefit from having a summer lunch site. Please feel free to contact your Program Specialist for assistance.
